Valorise

01

Provenance

Every work has a history of hands and houses. We reconstruct it from archives and literature, until it stands up to a museum's questions.

02

Archive

Every work carries a memory with it. We set it down in writing: documents, studies, restorations — the dossier that accompanies it across generations.

03

Exhibitions

A work returns to sight when the space and the text deserve it. Few works, well-tended texts: each exhibition leaves it one more history.

04

Films

Some works call for light and movement. Short films that precede the work: whoever meets it has already, in part, seen it.

05

The Reading

A writer looks at the work, and writes it. Cahiers and authors' readings that enter the literature of the work, and remain there.

06

The Study

The science of the work belongs to independent scholars. The maison commissions it and never signs it: every judgement that accompanies the work is impartial.

“One should break silence only to say something that is worth more than the silence.”
Abbé Dinouart — L'Art de se taire, 1771

Passing On

The crossroads exists because the roads go on.

To those who own a work

The maison studies it, speaks for it, and leads it where its value is recognized: the right collection, the right wall, the right eyes. By private treaty, under mandate.

To those who seek a work

Every collection lacks one work. The roads of the crossroads set out from Paris and cross the world to meet it.
